NASA Presenta su Primer Google+ Hangout en Español

La NASA está ampliando su alcance a la creciente población nacional de habla hispana con la presentación de su primer Google+ Hangout en español el jueves, 28 de marzo, de 6:30 a 7:30 pm EDT.

Como parte de Science4Girls, una iniciativa de la agencia para colaborar con distintas bibliotecas durante el Mes Nacional de la Historia de la Mujer, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de aprender más sobre la vida y carrera profesional de dos mujeres hispanas prominentes de la NASA.

Durante este evento, la científica terrestre Erika Podest y la investigadora principal e ingeniera de sistemas Michela Muñoz Fernández, ambas del Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) de la NASA en Pasadena, California, compartirán sus historias. Ellas responderán a preguntas de los participantes sobre el camino que tomaron para llegar a la NASA, lo que hacen, por qué es importante y cómo formar parte del programa espacial.

Además de las preguntas de los usuarios de las bibliotecas participantes, varias preguntas del público serán seleccionadas y respondidas por Podest y Muñoz durante el evento. Los seguidores de los medios sociales de la NASA podrán enviar sus preguntas antes y durante el hangout a través de la página de Google+ de NASA en Español o a través de Twitter @NASA_Es, utilizando el hashtag #pregunteaNASA.

Los que sometan preguntas pueden ver el hangout en vivo sintonizando la página de Google+ de NASA en Español o el canal de YouTube de NASA Televisión para ver si su pregunta es seleccionada.

NASA is expanding its reach to the nation’s growing Spanish-speaking population by holding its first-ever Google+ Hangout en Espanol from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. EDT, Thursday, March 28.

As part of Science4Girls, a NASA initiative to partner with libraries during National Women’s History Month, participants will be able to learn more about the life and career of two prominent Hispanic women at NASA.

During this event, Earth scientist Erika Podest and principal investigator and systems engineer Michela Munoz Fernandez, both of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, Calif., will share their stories. They will answer participants’ questions about the path they took to get to NASA, what they do, why it matters, and how to become a part of the space program.

During the event, several questions will be selected and answered by Podest and Munoz, along with questions from library patrons and other participants. NASA’s social media followers will be able to submit questions before or during the event via the NASA en Espanol Google+ page or via Twitter @NASA_Es.

Those who submit questions can watch the hangout live on the NASA en Espanol Google+ page or the NASA Television YouTube channel to see whether their question is asked.
